Happy First Birthday Luke!

So today my baby boy turns 1 year old! Time has just flown by and he is turning into such a little boy. Our lives have turned up-side-down this year, but we are loving every minute.
Luke is developing quite a personality, and showing all the attitude of a two year old. Last week he was playing in the dog's water dish. I told him "No". He looked right at me frowned, hit the floor with his fists, shrugged his shoulders and crawled away in the other direction.
He is also very cuddly at moments and has learned how to give kisses. Oh my! It just melts you to the core. The most delicious thing in the world!

This Sunday my parents hosted a birthday party for Luke. In my family it is a tradition that on your first birthday you get a homemade carousel cake.



We stripped Luke down and let him go to town with his birthday cake. He thought it was great. He kept smiling shyly at everyone like he was doing something naughty, but oh, so fun! We were both covered in cake by the time he was done.

We had a wonderful time. Everyone made Luke's birthday very special. Luke got lots of love from family and some pretty cool toys. Thank You!!!!!

I have not been to Luke's one year appointment yet, but I am guessing he is about 25 lbs and 33 inches tall.
He is meeting all of his milestones and seems to be thriving. His appetite has dropped off dramatically, but he still eats a good diet. He loves steamed peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash and of course any fruit and lots of cheese.
He is saying mama, dada, dog, and using sign language for please, more, and done (although it isn't too difficult to understand what he wants when he is whining and jumping up and down at your feet). Overall he is an easy going and happy guy!



Last week we went to visit my grandparents. Luke had a great time outside, and grandpa taught him how to throw the ball.
